Endoscopic Surgery

Improving the way your body looks should not mean having to live with telltale scars. Endoscopic surgery allows Dr. Edelson to perform cosmetic plastic surgery procedures through small incisions. Endoscopic procedures may also be able to shorten your recovery time. An endoscope is a special instrument that consists of a tiny probe with a lighted camera attached and a screen where images taken by the camera are projected. By watching the screen, Dr. Edelson can have an accurate view of your treatment area and can move the necessary surgical device (such as a scalpel) through another small incision.

Endoscopic procedures are sometimes called minimally invasive procedures, because they do not require the long incisions associated with traditional surgical techniques. Not all plastic surgeons are adept at endoscopic techniques, but Dr. Edelson has considerable experience in performing this type of surgery.

If you would like to learn more about endoscopy and discuss whether or not it may be right for you, please contact Dr. Edelson today.

Tumescent Liposuction

Liposuction is an ideal procedure for people who want to remove fat from trouble spots on specific areas of their bodies -- the hips, upper arms, thighs, calves, neck, etc. A highly effective procedure, liposuction improves body contours in people of relatively normal weight.

Dr. Edelson uses the tumescent liposuction technique, which, in comparison to traditional liposuction, typically allows for a greater level of precision, enhanced safety, and increased patient comfort. What makes the tumescent technique unique is that fact that large amounts of anesthetic liquid are injected into the treatment area before any fat is removed. The liquid helps make the area firmer and slightly swollen, allowing for greater accuracy in removing fat cells. In addition, the tumescent technique minimizes the amount of blood a patient loses and decreases the amount of anesthetic needed. Dr. Edelson has used this technique for countless liposuction patients.

Abdominoplasty

Whether you want to look better on the beach or in your work attire, abdominoplasty can help slim, firm, and smooth your abdomen. Also known as a tummy tuck, abdominoplasty is a surgical procedure that can remove excess fat and skin from the midsection while also tightening the underlying muscles.

Abdominoplasty is an ideal procedure for women who have undergone several pregnancies, for men or women who have lost a significant amount of weight and are bothered by excess loose skin, and for anyone wanting a more attractive middle. Whenever possible, Dr. Edelson hides the abdominoplasty incision within a patient's swimsuit line.

If you are bothered by a protruding abdomen or by loose skin across your middle, abdominoplasty may be able to provide you with the kind of results you are looking for. To learn more, please contact Dr. Edelson today.
