Arm Lift
An Arm Lift, technically known as a brachioplasty, is performed to remove loose, hanging skin from the back of the upper arm. This looseness can result from either the natural aging process or in patients who have undergone massive weight loss either through diet or from bariatric weight surgery.
The operation involves removing a segment of skin along the inner portion of the upper arm, so that the final scar is located along the inner arm where it will be less conspicuous.
The operation takes approximately 2 hours and is often combined with other Plastic Surgery procedures, especially of the breast or body. Refer to our photo gallery under arm lift to see examples of this procedure as well as the scar that results from the procedure.
